Lifestyle Changes To Help You Feel Your Best in 2021

When a movie becomes a hit at the box office, there is often an urge to come up with a sequel to give fans more. Unfortunately, in many cases, the sequel never lives up to the standard of the original movie. However, there are times when the sequel is better than the original. Here are movie sequels that are better than the originals.

Logan

Hugh Jackman played Wolverine in two stand-alone movies before Logan. Both of these are widely considered to be the most disappointing in the X-Men franchise. Director James Mangold decided that he wanted a darker movie as the third and final installment, which became the R-rated Logan.

Toy Story 3

The first two Toy Story movies were a huge success and highlighted what Pixar could do with computer animation, but they were not as emotionally fraught as the third installment. With Andy going to college, the toys find themselves sent to a daycare centre from where you think they might never return.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Terminator was, in many ways, a groundbreaking movie that not only employed good special effects, but also had an almost silent main character that oozed menace. However, for many, the second movie in the franchise was the perfect mix of suspense, special effects, and humor that turned the Terminator’s role on its head.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

This is the third movie in the series but is arguably one of the best. Not only does it have all of the typical issues that families have over the festive period, but it also delivers some amazing comedy and visual gags.

Amazing Feats That Make Monkeys Look Just Like Humans

Our simian friends are said to be our closest living relative but sometimes it’s hard to see a strong likeness. However, there are some monkeys which are determined to remind humans just how closely we’re related. Check out these amazing monkey feats that make them look just like humans!

Get cooking

Apes and monkeys are usually pretty happy with raw fruit but one particular bonobo decided to turn up the heat. After seeing cave men cooking over fire on TV, 31-year-old Kanzi wanted to learn and so his human companions taught him to use a frying pan and utensils. If that weren’t enough Kanzi can even light his own matches - stand back everyone!

Money

A group of monkeys in Connecticut have learned about the value of money, according to research. It took a few months for the monkeys to grasp the concept but eventually understood that the money was a token of value and could be swapped for grapes or Jell-O. Changing the prices of each item changed the monkey’s spending behaviour, showing that they really had grasped the idea.

Prostitution

Once the monkeys understood the basic principle of money, they quickly tired of restricting themselves to grapes and Jell-O and opted for more inventive rewards. Stealing a coin, one monkey swapped it for sexual favours from a fellow chimp who then spent it on a grape.

Two action novels which celebrate the power of the individual

His takes a job to rescue the daughter of a power US senator. But what to him seems like a straightforward mission turns catastrophically wrong. The daughter is killed, his team eliminated and his own wife and son executed by the Russian mafia. Decker is convinced he was set up but is jailed for his part it all.

A decade on, though, someone needs his help again but when he is mysteriously released from prison, Decker is sceptical. A shadowy figure has information that the botched raid was a set-up and Decker is eager for revenge and is determined to take down those who ruined his life.

Wild Card by Stuart Woods

In the latest in the Stone Barrington series of novels, Stone finds his peaceful existence disturbed by an enemy. However, the former police detective, turned private investigator and all-round fixer has enough experience to know how to deal with him.

Exciting contemporary spy novels

To some, the spy thriller may seem like something of an anachronism or a fading genre. These fantastic books prove that there is still plenty of scope for a twisting tale of espionage and intrigue in the modern literary landscape.

Need To Know by Karen Cleveland

Before turning her hand to writing, Karen Cleveland worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, and she brings the benefit of that real-life experience to this fantastic novel, full of detail and insight. As well as one of the rare spy thrillers that depict a central protagonist with a healthy and homely family life, all contrasted against a prescient plot involving Russian sleeper agents nestled in the American population.

Who Is Vera Kelly? by Rosalie Knecht

In the grand tradition of John Le Carre, a master when it came to balancing geopolitical intrigue, page-turning action, and genuine literary craft, comes this fantastic novel from Rosalie Knecht. Featuring a complex and fascinating female protagonist who finds herself going from troubled New York teenager to U.S.S.R spy in Argentina, and then finds herself behind enemy lines and unexpected chaos after an unexpected coup d’état.

The Deceivers by Alex Berenson

Any spy thriller set in 2018 America is presented with a fascinating dichotomy, the reality of Russian involvement in U.S elections and with political figures offers tremendous scope for narratives. But, how do you write fiction when the reality is already so outlandish? Berenson does it by going back to the genre’s hard-boiled pulp roots, and by stretching a trail that leads all the way from a low-level drug sting in Texas to the White House.

If you’re a fan of action and intrigue, then you need to head over to www.loadity.com, where they have an exhilarating collection of action eBooks and audiobooks.

Robert Ludlum – The man behind the Bourne trilogy

Those with an interest in the action-adventure genre will love reading the fiction adventure novels of Robert Ludlum. Among the most eminent thriller writers of his time, he also was the creator of the very popular Bourne trilogy (later made into the blockbuster Bourne movie series).

The features that make his novels so engrossing are his combination of nail-biting suspense with attention to meticulous detail. Every single novel of his made it to the #1 New York best seller list, too. Here is a peek at the first two novels that set the benchmark for spy novels.

The Bourne Identity

The novel begins with a doctor finding an unconscious man in a desolate area. While the doctor treats him he finds the man has many scars, old wounds and surgeries and no clue about his identity. Upon regaining consciousness the man has no recollection of the past. An engrossing book, it teases the reader with multiple questions and the piecemeal unravelling of the man’s identity.

The Bourne Supremacy

The suspense continues when the man Jason remembers bit and pieces of his life. While he has periodic flashbacks he sets about unravelling his identity. Along the way,he has to stop a man who is copying his mannerisms and style while executing people. Jason has the task of stopping this assassin. Audiobooks: What to look out for

There are more and more ways to enjoy books these days and the humble printed copy is facing a challenge from all angles in the form eBooks and audiobooks. There will still, however, be demand for the good old printed work, but audiobooks are rapidly increasing in popularity as they fit neatly around people’s busy and varied lives.

There are many advantages to an audiobook. One is that they can allow you to go about your daily life while entertaining you with a gripping story or dispensing fascinating facts. You can listen to an audiobook while doing housework, at the gym, on your daily commute or on a long drive. They can also be enjoyed by more than one person at a time and even help younger children develop their reading skills by following the printed version alongside the audio one.

If you are new to audiobooks, here are some things to look out for.

Who is the narrator?

Check who is reading the book which you are going to allow into your ears. If it is a well-known actor or an experienced narrator, you’ll know you are in good hands. A poor narrator can really spoil your enjoyment of a book, no matter how good the storyline so make sure you know who is doing the reading.

Is it an unabridged version of the book?

An unabridged audiobook means you are getting the full text of the original publication. Some audiobooks can edit the original text so you don’t always get what is in the original printed version.

For a great range of audiobooks and eBooks check out www.loadity.com.
